<br />CHAPTER IV <br /> <br />DESIGNS AND ESTIMATES <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Role of the Water and Power Resources Service <br /> <br />Water and Power will continue as the lead agency for Phase II of the study. <br />~It will be the responsibility of the lead agency to, determine if, and to what <br />~ extent, a professional services contractor should be utilized for this phase. <br />,c:> If a contractor is not utilized, the agency will assume all of the respon- <br />sibilities outlined for the contractor previously. <br /> <br />Assuming tha~ a contractor is selected, Water and Power will provide him <br />a list of features, design and environmental data collection criteria, and de":, <br />sign standards. The agency will provide critical review of all reports, designs,' <br />and estimates submitted by the contractor. <br /> <br />Role of the Public <br /> <br />Aft,er the plan selection activities described in the,preceding cl1apter <br />are completed, the role of the public will become somewhat less active until <br />the feasibility report and environmental statement are, ready,for,p,ublic. rev:!-ew,. , <br />The public will be kept informed on the progress of the study by news letters <br />to be sent out during this phase as discussed in Chapter II.
