<br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />September 1995 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of September was computed <br />to be 150 acre-feet (a. f.) as shown on Table 3. Net San Juan-Chama losses were <br />930 a.f. as shown on Table 2. There were no diversions through Azotea Tunnel this <br />month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 190 a. f. of natural released (mostly seepage) in September from <br />Heron. A total of 3,034 a.f. of San Juan-Chama was released for the City of <br />Albuquerque to MRGCD in EI Va do (payback for water borrowed to assist with rafting <br />releases) . <br /> <br />Total precipitation at Heron Reservoir was 1.47 inches which is 87% of normal. The <br />monthly computations for Heron Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />In September a total of 597 a. f. was released for Santa Fe from Abiquiu below Otowi <br />and 18 a.f. above Otowi (SEO letters August 25 and September 21, 1995). A total <br />of 153 a.f. was released for the City of Albuquerque from Abiquiu below Otowi and <br />4 a.f. above Otowi (SEO letter September 19, 1995). A total of 16,884 a. f. was <br />borrowed from the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu for MRGCD to meet irrigation <br />demand below Otowi. A total of 100 a. f. was borrowed from the City of Albuquerque <br />in Abiquiu for Nambe Falls Reservoir. <br /> <br />At the end of September, MRGCDs balance was 15,958 a.f. for San Juan-Chama <br />previously borrowed from the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu to meet irrigation <br />demand. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 362 a.f. Evaporation loss <br />on the reservoir was 3 a.f. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. <br /> <br />Storage and evaporation of Rio Grande water in EI Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are <br />shown on Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and analyzed. <br />
