<br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />August 1995 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of August was computed to <br />be 1,690 acre-feet (a.f.) as shown on Table 3. Net San Juan-Chama losses were <br />1,170 a. f. as shown on Table 2. There were no diversions through Azotea Tunnel this <br />month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 1,260 a.f. of natural released in August from Heron. A total of <br />4,304 a. f. of San Juan-Chama was released for the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu <br />(water also assisted with rafting releases below EI Vado). <br /> <br />Total precipitation at Heron Reservoir was 2.57 inches which is 95% of normal. The <br />monthly computations for Heron Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />There was a total of 8,237 a.f. of San Juan-Chama water released in August for <br />MRGCD from EI Vado to payback the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu for water <br />borrowed to supplement irrigation demand in the Middle Rio Grande Valley. <br /> <br />In August a total of 127 a.f. was released for Santa Fe from Abiquiu to Otowi (SEO <br />letter May 5, 1995). A total of 6,740 a. f. was borrowed from the City of Albuquerque <br />in Abiquiu for MRGCD to meet irrigation demand. A total of 71 a.f. was borrowed <br />from the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu for Nambe Falls Reservoir. A total of 1,857 <br />a.f. was released from the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu for Jemez Reservoir. An <br />additional 2 a.t. was released from the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu for Cochiti <br />Lake. In August, 99 a.f. held temporarily until the end of spring runoff in the City of <br />Albuquerque pool in Abiquiu was released for Los Lunas (SEO letter May 24, 1995). <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 496 a. f. Evaporation loss <br />on the reservoir was 14 a. f. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chams water at Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. <br /> <br />Storage and evaporation of Rio Grande water in EI Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are <br />shown on Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and analyzed. <br />
