<br />the Gunnison-Arkansas project planning repo~t, qated January 1950, in
<br />addition to data developed in current studi~s of water and related land
<br />resource deVelopment of the Arkansas River Qasin upstream from John
<br />Martin Dam were utilized to estimate averagq annual flood losses. The
<br />river was divided into nine reaches for the!analy~is as dictated by
<br />major tributaries that have significant effects on main stem flow
<br />frequencies. These reaches are defined as follows and shown on plate 1.
<br />The area downstream from the Purgatoire River is, within the reservoir
<br />limits of John Martin Dam. !
