Sl'.\TtiS The Dominguez Reservoir Project was. authorized for investigation by the Water Resour~e Developments. Feasibility Studies Act of October 27. 1972 (Public Law 92-577). Feasibility investigations were initiated in Jan- uary 1975 with the f~r~~ion of the multiobjective planning (MOP) tca~. The team has studied a multi- tucc cf 3lternatives in the planning process. These alternatives will be discussed tn the feasi- bility report and the environmental impact state- ment. four of the alternatives have been chosen ior presentation a~ candidate plans in the project r!'!!,>orts. T;h.. y include the (1) Nonstructural. (2) r,p;i'l'"("i".;;;,,"nta1.. q:J~l1t:; E::ph.J.:ds, (3) Pcdd::; Pc~.:cr. Alll-i (4) :':I"hiid.pal and Industrial t.:i1tl:!r PIa:'!::>. T~e draft environmental impact state~~nt 3r.d puLlic m~eting are also scheduled for ]~te c31endar y~~r 1982. and the final envi- ro~~ental inpact statement in midca1endar year 198~, The FY 82 appropriations include $100,000 for continued 1nvesti~ations. ~ Two development plans are currently being reviewed by the State of Colorado and the Mesa County Domin- guez Reservoir Advisory Council. The draft feasi- bility report will present the details or these tvo pla:ls. as ,"ell a~ two other candidate olo1ns and 3. no-acticn alternative. The plan currently favorad by the Advisory Council el1minates peakin~ p~~er as a project purpos~ and a~ds a significantly larger component of ounicipal a~d industrial water (about 200.000 acre-feet).
