c

i."-

to study, would serve many of the same purposes that Dominguez
Reservoir would serve. The Board will be in a better position to
make an informed comparison between the two projects after the
Una Reservoir feasibility study is completed.

~

'-

At the same time, Dominguez Reservoir may prove to be an
important feature of Colorado's overall water development
program. We ought not, therefore, lose the opportunity to move
the planning for the project ahead in a timely fashion.

Recommendations

I recommend that the Board:

1. Indicate to the Bureau its continuing interest in the
project and urge the Bureau to recommend that planning
be continued on the M&I water supply formulation of the
Dominguez Reservoir in order to complete a feasibility
level study on that alternative.

2. Respectfully request the Colorado Congressional
delegation to seek an FY 83 appropriation for the Bureau
to continue such planning.

3. Not decide at this time whether to seek Congressional
authorization for the project.

JWM/gl

Attachments

-4-
