LITTLE THOMPSON RIVER @ CANYON MOUTH NEAR BERTHOUD, CO

LOCATION.--Lat 40º15’29”, long 105º12’21”, SW¼NW¼ sec. 2, T. 3 N., 70 W., Boulder County, on the left bank,
at the mouth of the Canyon, 1800 ft. upstream from the Culver Ditch Diversion and 8.5 mi. southwest
of Berthoud, Co.

DRAINAGE AREA.--100 mi².

GAGE.--Graphic water stage recorder with satellite monitoring in a 42" metal well. The drop tape is the
primary reference. The DCP is the primary record.

REMARKS.--The hourly satellite record is the primary record with chart as back up. Daily maximum and
minimum stages for the satellite record checked to within +0.02 with the chart. Shaft encoder
corrections were entered in Records program and prorated hourly by time (See datum correction
sheet). Mean GH’s from the chart were used for September 18-30—when the shaft encoder failed.
Record is complete and reliable except for the following periods: November 04-March 12: Station
was closed for the winter; April 2,4,5,9,10—Flush corrections made; May 3,4,5-flush correction made;
November 04 & March12: Partial record on closing and opening days. The record is good except for
the following days which were estimated and poor: November 5; March 12; April 2,4,5,9,10,14; May 3-
5. Station maintained and record developed by Shera Sumerford.
