LOCATION.--Lat 40°24'44", long 104°33'46", in NW¼SW¼ sec. 9, T.5 N., R.64 W., Weld County, Hydrologic Unit
10190003, on downstream side of bridge on State Highway 37, 1.9 mi north of railroad in Kersey, and
2.5 mi downstream from Cache la Poudre River.

DRAINAGE AREA AND PERIOD OF RECORD.--9,598 mi². May 1901 to Dec. 1903, Mar. 1905 to current year. Monthly
totals only for some periods. Periodic water-quality data available from 1950.

GAGE.--A graphic water-stage recorder and digital shaft encoder activated by a manometer in a concrete
block shelter, also equipped with a satellite monitoring DCP. Both devices are hooked to the
manometer. An outside wire weight is used for referencing the gage. A land-line phone is installed
and the DCP is equipped with a voice modem card.

REMARKS.--The primary record is hourly data taken from the manometer. The manometer-encoder tracking was
checked by comparison to chart mean gage heights. Satellite data checked against the chart to ±0.02
ft. Record is rated fair due to manometer operation and channel instability. The period from
November 25, 2001 until January 29, 2002 as well as the estimated days of January 30-31, April 5,
June 9-10, July 4-5 & 9, and September 12-13 should be considered poor. For complete station break
