Travis Day stated he had nothing new to report <br /> VIII. Staff Report <br /> A. Update on Examination and Licensing Activities - updated 9/17/24 <br /> 1. 244 current contractors, 8 on lapsed list <br /> 2. Licensing Applicants - 4 approved, 3 pending since August 13 BOE Meeting <br /> B. Continuing Education Update - updated 9/17/24 <br /> 1. 2024 CE LoR of Courses - total of 48 courses/meetings to date (21 online, 27 in <br /> person) <br /> C. Well Inspection Program <br /> 1. Well Permit Counts <br /> a) Chris Jones presented the report <br /> (1) Stated that permit numbers are picking up and in line with <br /> 2023 <br /> (2) Stated that there is still a lag in construction reports, pump <br /> installation reports, etc. as compared to 2023. <br /> 2. Well Inspection Report <br /> a) Chris Jones presented the report <br /> (1) Stated that inspection team has largely met goals <br /> D. Variances <br /> 1. 2024 Variances <br /> a) Marques Hatfield presented the report <br /> 2. John and Greta Rytlewski; Permit 22216-MH; Request to Convert Monitoring Hole <br /> 22216-MH to production well <br /> a) Chris Jones introduced the variance and provided background <br /> information. <br /> b) Discussion regarding local geology, well construction, nearby well <br /> lithology, and risk of contamination. <br /> c) Chris Sanchez motioned to approve the variance request, which is a <br /> variance to Rule 14.2.2.2, to convert monitoring hole 22216-MH to a <br /> production well. Todd Hunter seconded. Motion carried. <br /> 3.
