Basin wide reservoir storage was at 93% 3_ ; 4.., I . 7
of average on December 1. The month of November was more 2- 1;- " i _ - i
like winter than fall as several major snow storms hit the 1- r —
Valley. Most of the river and creek flows were
slightly above normal during the month of November due to
rain showers and snowmelt. On the 30th, the flow of the Rio R I 0 GRANDE NEAR DEL NORTE
Grande near Del Norte was 191 cfs, and the flow of the 19 .
Conejos near Mogote was 54 cfs. These flows are expected to 's 1/
decrease somewhat during December due to colder 13- %//
temperatures and the rivers freezing up. 12
c 11
Administrative/Management Concerns: 2 i 9
The irrigation season is over but there are several .g
ditches running decreed recharge water. There was no i"
curtailment on the Rio Grande or the Conejos during ;
November since projections indicate that compact obligations 3
will be fulfilled. As was reported last month, reservoir A
contents were substantially depleted the past season. Unless 0
1961-1990 NOVBB€F AVERAGE NOVE►BER 1961
the basin receives a substantial snowpack there may be a
shortage of late season irrigation water next year. The AWDI
trial finally concluded on November 22 with Judge Ogbum '
ruling from the bench against AWDI on the nontributary
application. There is some indication that AWDI will file their
tributary application in the near future.
