Some of the sites around 9000 feet, which are
usually starting to melt by now, show very little reduction in COLORADO RIVER NR. DOTSEPO
water. The longer the weather stays cool, the higher the 700 FLOW
BY
W"TER
YEAR
runoff will be in June when the weather does get warm.
Flooding is certainly a possibility this season. • KO
• 500 /////:
Administrative/Management Concerns ¢4
The 1,250 cfs (1-17-1902) call for the Shoshone §! 400
Hydroelectric Power Plant in Glenwood Canyon was reduced 2 i 3
to the 158 cfs call (5-15-1929) on April 14 and was totally -"s
removed on April 21. Some reservoirs, such as Ruedi, Green Mountain, and
Williams Fork, are being lowered to make room for the high
runoff. Some water users, which are usually wanting more
runoff, are worried about the possibility of flooding this year.
Dam safety issues are being addressed due to the high runoff REPRESENTATIVE RESERVOIRS
potential, and dam owners are being advised to be sure 70 COLORADO RI"E' '"
spillways are clear of snow and other debris.
Public Use Impacts 1 s°_
flooding headgates,head atesponds, building
s, ect. is the 40Z.
main concern for irrigators and land owners.
