OF coz
I p DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
,tyn o yt David H Getches,Executive Director
T \NF---- * MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
18 e* DAVID C. SHELTON, Director
Richard D.Lamm
Governor
January 24, 1985
MEMORANDUM
TO: Jim Herron
FROM: Jeff Deckler
RE: Mid-Continent Bond
I have reviewed the reclamation cost estimates developed for the Sutey coal
refuse complex and rock tunnel to wash plant conveyor system. In doing so, I
have made certain assumptions with respect to the machinery needed to perform
the required work. It would be helpful in the future if all such as)stwiptions
used to estimate your costs be included with the estimate, and all machine
costs properly referenced. The Division finds as follows:
1 . Sutey Coal Refuse Complex
The Division accepts the revised costs as presented in your letter of
September 28. However, the evaluation by Schmueser Associates did not
consider reclamation costs for reseeding the topsoil stockpile,
reclaiming stream diversions, or reseeding beneath the conveyor. In
addition, the 10% charge for administration and overhead was not
included. With these considertions, the Division concludes that the
bond presently held by the Division of $205,252.00 is sufficient for
the purpose of setting bond in accordance with 3.02.2.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
