This <br />approximately 1.0 acre project involves activities in waters of the United States to reconstruct and <br />stabilize approximately 1,000 feet of Colorado riverbank using approximately 3,100 - 2.5' -3.0' <br />boulders and 13,000 yd of compacted backfill materials. The project site is located 1.5 miles east <br />of the City of Rifle on the south bank of the Colorado River within the SW1 /4, SE1 /4 of Section 12, <br />Township 6 South, Range 93 West, Sixth Principal Meridian, Latitude 39.5408 °, Longitude - <br />107.7248°, Garfield County, Colorado. <br />Based on the information you provided, the proposed activity will impact 1,000 linear feet of <br />river bank, above and below the ordinary high water mark and is authorized by Regional General <br />Permit (RGP) number 96 -07 for Flood - related Activities in Colorado. Your work must comply <br />with the general terms and conditions listed on the enclosed RGP information sheets and the <br />following special conditions: <br />1. Prior to initiation of any construction activities within waters of the U.S., you shall <br />employ construction best management practices (BMPs) onsite to prevent degradation to <br />on -site and off -site waters of the U.S. Methods shall include the use of appropriate <br />measures to intercept and capture sediment prior to entering waters of the U.S., as well as <br />erosion control measures along the perimeter of all work areas to prevent the displacement <br />of fill material. All BMPs shall be in place prior to initiation of any construction activities <br />and shall remain until construction activities are completed. You shall maintain erosion <br />control methods until all on -site soils are stabilized. <br />2. To verify permit compliance with submitted designs, 5 days prior to initiation of <br />construction activities within waters of the U.S., you shall submit to the Corps, pre - <br />construction site photographs of the project site. <br />
