The Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (DRMS) has completed an initial
adequacy review for Technical Revision No. 54 JR-54) for the New Elk Mine.
1, Rule 2.05.3(3)(a) requires "A description, plans, and drawings, describing
the location, construction, modification, use, maintenance and removal of mine
support facilities in the permit area including all buildings, structures, utility
corridors and other support facilities including but not limited to those listed in
4.04. Plans and drawings shall include a map, to meet the standards prescribed
in 2. 10, appropriate cross sections, design drawings, and specifications sufficient
to demonstrate compliance with 4,04." Please ensure that the dimensions of the
facility are clearly stated with reference to supporting calculations regarding the
reclamation costs estimate. Please submit the required information as ep rmit
text narrative for all structures proposed to be added under this revision.
2. Rule 2,05.3(3) (c) requires "A description of each road, conveyor, or rail
system to be constructed, used, or maintained within the proposed permit area.
The description shall include a map, prepared in accordance with 2,10,
appropriate cross sections, and the following: (!)Specifications for each road
width, road gradient, road surface, road cut, fill embankment, culvert, bridge,
drainage ditch, and drainage structure. Please submit the required information
as permit text narrative along with the required cross sections for all roads or rail
systems proposed to be added under this revision.
3. Please ensure that structure and facility names used in Table 19 match
those annotated on Map 11 exactly, Many differences exist presently. Please
correct the table or the map or both as necessary.
