As indicated in your inspection report, the Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment (CDPHE) is requiring Mr. Broda to install the wells around the pond to test groundwater
quality to ensure that "drilling fluid" or "daylight mud" that is backfilled at the site has not impacted
groundwater quality. While your report indicates that CDPHE was requiring four wells to conduct the
monitoring, the number of wells agreed upon between Mr. Broda and CDPHE was three.
As we have previously discussed, Mark Molen, of Molen & Associates environmental consultants,
represents Mr. Broda and has coordinated with CDPHE and the State Engineers Office regarding the
location, installation, monitoring and abandonment requirements for the wells. These details and well
location map are included in a letter prepared by Mr. Molen and enclosed herewith together with a check
from Mr. Broda in the amount of $216 for the technical revision filing fee.
Please contact me if you have any questions or require additional information.
Very truly yours,

Connie N.
