The improvements to the liner system are in two separate areas of the VLF. Phase IV B/C Triangle Proiect A triangular area previously outside the boundary of the liner system at the union of Phases IVB and IVC has been lined (please refer to attached AMEC Earth and Environmental ("AMEC") design drawing dated May 11, 2010). The additional lined area results in a more contiguous lined area footprint and increased containment capabilities of the VLF. Please refer to attached AMEC drawing "Phase IV B/C Triangle Project, Liner Details", dated May 11, 2010 for additional detail. This project will be installed per specifications outlined in Amendment No. 9 for clay and geosynthetic liner installation as an area for ore storage on the VLF. Even though the Triangle Area will be constructed to accept ore storage and processing, it is not planned for that use as such at this time. Therefore, the current stability analysis submitted with Amendment No. 9 does not change, as CC&V is not proposing a change to the ore stacking plan nor the volume of material to be processed. Should the plan for the total volume of material change on the VLF footprint area, then DRMS will be notified and the financial warranty will be adjusted accordingly. Construction quality assurance will be provided by AMEC. An as-built report will be submitted to DRMS in a timely manner upon completion of the project
