It addresses only gravel mining at this time. This
pit HAS NOT been granted a Temporary Cessation and it HAS operated
more than 180 days this year. The approved bond amount is
$550,931.00 and the permit area covers 95.07 acres ±. The facility
has one mining stage and one reclamation phase. The bond was
evaluated in 2008 so no bond evaluation is attached thi's year.
Please refer to the attached 2009 Annual Report Map for the areas
discussed in this text.
We will deal specifically with the Annual Report requirements as
outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations and those noted in
the annual letter.
(1) We continued to operate the portable concrete batch plant as
shown on the map. Approximately 34.98 acres ± is stripped on
.the southern end of the mine (yellow/brown). The current bond
covers 35.00 acres ± of disturbance. Mining continued in the
- partially mined area that is. colored brown, this area covers
24.60 ac. ± of the stripped area. Material.mined is processed
at the plant located on the Church Pit that adjoins this mine on
the west.
The two roads built by the Rocky Flats closure project, remain
on the site as noted last year, none of the parties associated
with mine were involved with construction of these roads but
eventually they will be removed by mining. Parts of these roads
lay outside the permit area and D.O.E. and Stoller are
responsible for reclaiming them.
Growth medium is being stockpiled in berms on the mine perimeter
for use in reclamation. The berm along the south line is
B ESTWAY
C O N C R E T E
P.O. Box 309 MILLIKEN, COLORADO 80543-0309 V 970-356-7523
