approximately 17 feet north of the permit line. In addition,
reclamation material is being stored on 6.90 acres ± (purple)
along the eastern permit line for use when reclamation begins in
that area.
(2) Backfill sloping began on portions of the south slope this year
as we began to place material in the southwest corner of the
mine (orange). The site berms will be revegetated when they are
complete. We have been aggressively spraying noxious weeds on
the site as described in our weed control plan. Spraying
started in May and continued until late October. We will resume
spraying this spring weather permitting.
(3) Mining will continue in the stripped area and will progress to
the east and north. The area along the south line has being
benched as mining gets deeper. Backfilling will continue along
this line until there is adequate material in place to complete
the final pit slopes of 2:1 when the mine floor is reached.
Growth medium will continue to be stockpiled in berms along the
mine perimeter for use in reclamation. No new area will be
disturbed this year.
(4) The sloping will continue on the south line this year. The
finer material that is waste from gravel processing will be used
to resoil the graded slopes when sloping is completed.
