Box 670
Hayden, CO 81639
6 -rl)e 1- / U A./(-- -7(---\
Subject: Status of remaining structures at the Seneca IIW mine
Activity PP2006-085
Roy,
I have been contacted by Jay James regarding the release of structures at the Seneca IIW
mine site under the reclamation plan. Such structures include:
Access Roads
Light Use Road
Shop and Storage Area
Water Well
Powerline and Substation
Fenced Shrub Plots
Sediment Ponds
Stock Ponds
Misc. Boundary and Grazing Fences
The structures and uses are defined in the attached report. The issues concerning the
Planning Department include 1) if the remaining structures are Uses By-Right under the
Routt County Zoning Regulations, 2) are requested to be excluded from reclamation by
the property owner, and 3) they serve a needed purpose. While the County issued a
permit for mining activities and associated uses on this site, I could not find evidence of a
County-approved reclamation plan. The statements listed below deal with compliance
with Routt County Zoning Regulations with the assumption that any subject property
zoned "M" Mining will be rezoned to the "AF" Agriculture and Forestry district.
