Mount: <br />On behalf of our client, Mountain Park Concrete, Inc., please accept the following technical <br />revision information for the Parshall Pit operation, reclamation permit number M-1998-034. The. <br />technical revision is to provide updated information regarding the mining operation at the <br />Parshall- Pit. A revised Mining Plan Map showing the. permit area and proposed changes is <br />included. In addition, a check is attached for the $216 Technical Revision fee. <br />The Parshall Pit is located approximately 3 miles south of Parshall, Colorado east of Williams <br />Fork Reservoir on -the east side of County Road 3. The site is approximately 10 acres and is <br />generally located on the Wl/2 Wl/2 of Section 31, Township 1 North, Range 78 West of the 6~' <br />P.M. in Grand County, Colorado. The pit was originally permitted in 1998 for sand and gravel <br />mining.. Mining operations are underway at the site. The proposed future land use, or goal of <br />reclamation, is rangeland. <br />The original mining and reclamation plans included the use of wash water settling ponds. Based <br />on new information, the applicant is submitting this technical revision to revise the mining and <br />reclamation plans as follows: <br />Eliminate Need for Wash Water Settlin Pg onds <br />According to the Mining Plan, three wash water settling ponds were to be located in the southern <br />portion of the permit area and were intended to be used throughout all three mining phases. <br />However, the operator intends to replace the need for the wash water settling ponds by using a <br />water clarifier process. The water clarifier process will take place within a 1,280 ft2 concrete <br />structure that will be approximately 16-feet in height.- This structure will generally be located in <br />the southern portion of the permit area. The water clarifier process will utilize nonhazardous <br />polymers for flocculation. These polymers will be stored within the structure.
