Sullivan:
Mining and reclamation at the Henderson mine and mill
again proceeded almost exactly as depicted in the applica-
tion . Our rate of production is presently about 28 , 000 tons
per day. Our total work force is up to about 1940 people .
Reclamation proceeded in accord with the timetable
(Section 5 ) and the Reclamation Plan (Section 9 ) . Species
planted during 1979 were those committed to in the approved
plan ( Section 9 ) plus some . The list submitted last year has
not changed significantly. Planting times and locations de-
scribed in the reclamation plan were adhered to . Maintenance
and establishment fertilizer rates were applied in accordance
with the plan. In general , materials used were 8 tons of
34-0-0 (N-P-K ) fertilizer , 1 ton of 20-20-10 (N-P-K )
fertilizer , 20 rolls of excelsior mat, 3, 000 shrubs and
trees , 1/2 ton of grass seed , and 3 pounds of wildflower and
shrub seed . 1979 was a good growing season with a fairly
even distribution of precipitation throughout the year . The
quality and quantity of vegetation increased accordingly.
Topsoiling of mine yard slopes was postponed due to the
diesel fuel shortage during the summer months. This project
will resume in 1980 . Sparse areas were spot reseeded with
grass seed . The wildflower seed mix and some shrub seeds
were planted on various slopes at the mine site . Shrub and
tree density was increased with the addition of 2,000 more
plants in selected locations .
a.
