Our work force at the beginning of the year was 100 and by the end <br />of December was reduced to 347. <br />Reclamation proceeded as described in the Timetable (Section !i) and the <br />Reclamation Plan (Section 9). Species planted during 1987 were those <br />originally listed in the reclamation plan and appropriate addition<.; mentioned <br />in previous annual reports. Less than one hundred pounds of the grass seed <br />mix were broadcast on some construction and repair di~:turbances. <br />Precipitation was average throughout the growing season and reveget:ated areas <br />responded accordingly. <br />RECLAMATION AREA ACTIVITIES <br />Reclamation of disturbances as they occur and efforts to minimize disturbance <br />by planning and reduction of unnecessary uses continue to be our aim. <br />Treatment in the following described area demonstrates our adherence to this <br />guideline. <br />Area 9 <br />Another slope on tailing dam number one was covered with soil salvaged from <br />within the tailing basin. A total of 7,086 cubic yards of soil was placed to <br />an average depth of one foot in September and October, and the fivE~-acre area <br />was reseeded. <br />
