C.O-80203,_
Re: Bowie No. 1 Mine, Bowie Resources, LLC
2004 Annual Report
Adequacy Response
Permit No. C-81-038
Dear Mr. Dudash:
CIVIL ENGINEERING
CONST. MANAGEMENT
RECEI~f`~®
~pN 1 ; 2006
p~agn of Minerals and Geology
The DMG's letter dated November 23, 2005 transmitted its adequacy comments
regarding the 2004 Annual Report. Following are Bowie's responses to the DMG's
comments and concerns:
2004 Annual Hydrology Report (AHR)
Tables 1, 2, 3 and 4B in Volume 4 of the Bowie No. 1 Mine permit
application have footnotes that designate with a "NO(E)" those surface
water monitoring stations and groundwater monitoring wells that will be
reactivated one year before mining is resumed in the Bowie No. 1 East
Mine. It is the Division's understanding that there is a possibility that Bowie
No. 2 may access the Bowie No. 1 East Mine workings sometime in 2006.
Please comment on BRL's plan for these inactive monitoring sites as it
relates to the remining of the Bowie No. 1 East Mine reserves.
BRL - BRL has sent a list of the appropriate inactive monitoring sites to its
sampler so he can find the sites and start monitoring same.
2. According to information on page 2 of the 2004 AHR, groundwater
monitoring wells 601 and OVMW were destroyed. Please update Table
4B in Volume 4 of-the permit application.to reflect this situation.
BRL - A Revision will be submitted to change Table 46 in Volume 4 to
reflect the change in monitoring status of wells 601 and OVMW.
