All mining and <br />reclama[ion activities were suspended at the end of January 1993. Reclamation activities were <br />reini[iated in June at an accelerated rate. As of [he end of December, Pit 1 is backfilled and <br />regraded and less than a 1,000,000 cry of 720 backfill material remains in overburden stockpile <br />OB-1. Final backfilling and regrading of [he 720 pit should be completed in February, 1994. <br />1.0 MINING AND TOPSOIL REMOVAL <br />There was no disturbance associated with active mining during the reporting period. The 720 <br />pit has been inattive for some time and mining in Pit 1 was completed in January 1993. <br />Topsoil was removed from approximately 8.84 acres along the perime[er of Pit 1, prior [o <br />initiation of final pit backsloping. The topsoil was windrowed a[ [he limit of the Pit 1 <br />reclaimed slopes. <br />2.0 BACKFILLING AND REGRADING <br />All of Pit 1 has been backfilled and regraded (approximately 36.33 acres) to the approximate <br />approved postmining topography. The majority of the 720 Pit also has been backfilled. Less <br />than 1,000,000 ccy remain in the overburden stockpile. Approximately 51.8 acres of the 720 Pit <br />are in the final stages of backfilling, and approximately 23.7 acres of the 720 Pit have been <br />regraded to the approved pos[mining topography. In addition, [here are approximately 8.28 <br />acres of inattive disturbed mine area along the wes[ and south edge of the 720 pit.
