t

Mr. Randall Price
January 7, 1994
Page Two
4.0 PREVIOUSLY RECLAIMED AREAS
Prior to 1987, a total of 109.09 acres have been reclaimed and revege[ated with perennials.
These areas are shown on the 1993 Reclamation Map.
5.0 DRAINAGE AND SEDIMENT CONTROL FACILITIES
With the exception of a temporary in-pit dewatering ditch (Refer to MR-15), no new
sedimen[a[ion ponds, ditches or drainage con[rol structures were constructed during 1993. The
disturbance area associated with the existing ponds and structures covers approximately 21.9
acres as shown on the 1993 Reclamation Map.
6.0 SOIL STOCKPILES
There are nine existing topsoil stockpiles located on the Kerr Mine area, covering 18.03 acres.
These s[ockpile areas are shown on the 1993 Reclamation Map. The topsoil removed in
conjunction with Pit 1 backsloping activities was windrowed at the limit of the reclaimed slopes.
7.0 OVERBURDEN STOCKPILE
Less than 1,000,000 ccy of material remain in the overburden stockpile. Overburden removal
has not reduced the aerial extent of the disturbance associated with the pile (approximately 52.49
acres) as shown on the 1993 Reclamation Map. This area will, however, be reclaimed following
removal of the remaining overburden material in early 1994.
8.0 SURFACE FACILITIES AND ROADS
As shown on the 1993 Reclamation Map, there are approximately 40.21 acres of disturbance
associated wi[h the surface facilities and roads. No new roads or facilities were construtted
during the year. The old Coun[y Road was regraded.
9.0 GRAZING
No grazing activities took place at [he Kerr Mine during 1993
10.0 TOTAL DISTURBANCE SUMMARY
Following is a table summarizing the total disturbance a[ the Kerr Mine since its inception in
1974. Disturbed lands are categorized by [heir current use and/or state of reclamation.
