The following observations
were made as required in the Surface Coal t4ining and Reclamatilon Operations-
Permanent Regulatory Program. Area boundaries shown on the attached map
are only rough approximations of the areas:
1. Area A has been reclaimed including the planting of vegetation
with the exception of the access roads passing through the area.
The access roads in the area have been topsoiled and will be
planted this fall. Area A-1 has a slope of 36% or less which
is 2.8 h (horizontal):lv(vertical) or flatter and is very stable.
Area A-2 has a slope of 2.3 (43%) to 2.8h:1v(36°~) which is in
excess of the Surface Coal P1ining and Reclamation Operations-
Permanent Regulatory Program. An investigation into the reason
for the steeper slope led to the discovery that the slope is
original ground and has no waste material on it. The topsoil
was recovered from the slope and then replaced and revegetated.
2. Area 6 has been reshaped to a final slope of 2.8h:1v(36%) or
flatter and topsoil has been spread over the area in preparation
for planting.
3. The slope angle in Area C has been flattened to 2.8h:1v(36%) or
