The rate of production for 1985 was 27,500 tons per day on a 21-day-
per-month schedule. Operations were shut down for two months during the
summer to reduce excessive product inventory levels. Our work force at the
end of December 1985 was 829 with an average of 871 per month for the year.
Reclamation proceeded as described in the Timetable (Section G~) and the
Reclamation Plan (Section 9). Species planted during 1985 were those orig-
inaily listed in the Reclamation Plan and appropriate additions mentioned in
previous annual reports. Materials used in the reclamation effort this year
included 375 pounds of grass seed. Precipitation was above averagE~ at the
mill and slightly below average at the mine during the growing season and
vegetation was suitably sustained.
RECLAMATION AREA ACTIVITIES
Reclamation of disturbances as they occur and efforts to minimize
disturbance by planning and reduction of unnecessary uses continue to be our
aim. Treatment in various areas demonstrates our adherence to this: guide-
line.
