The spring was flowing
(less than 35 g.p.m.) during July of 1989, and both CMLRD and CYCC
collected a sample. It is our understanding that the CYCC results will
be submitted, and that future surveys will include this spring if it is
flowing at the time of the survey.
As discussed during our telephone conversation of July 11, 1989 and
followed up by letter on July 13, 1989. The following information is
provided to clarify the suggested data omissions. The May 1988 Spring
survey was conducted from May 17 through May 27 at Mines 1, 2, 3, Eckman
Park, and Fish Creek Tipple. The survey's emphasis is on springs which have
measurable flow. Not every spring which is dry or has insignificant flow is
noted each year. Spring M3-87-2 was dry in May 1988 and was not included in
the survey. Results obtained from spring M3-87-2 split sampling by the
CMLRD/CYCC in July 1988 will be included in the 1989 Annual Hydrologic
Report for Mine 3. Spring M3-87-2 was not flowing during the May 1989
Spring survey but will be input and will be found in the 1989 Third Quarter
Hydrology Report and the 1989 Annual Hydrology Report for Mine 3.
~~us
