Dear Mr. Jouflas:
Reclamation at the Henderson mine and mill proceeded as described in the
plan. The rate of production for 1988 was 23,750 tons per day on a
21-day-per-month schedule. Our work force at the end of December 1988 was
407.
Reclamation proceeded as described in the Timetable (Section 5) and the
Reclamation Plan (Section 9). Species planted during 1988 were those
originally listed in the reclamation plan and appropriate additions mentioned
in previous annual reports. One hundred and fifty pounds of the grass seed
mix were broadcast on some construction and repair disturbances.
RECLAMATION AREA ACTIVITIES
Reclamation of disturbances as they occur and efforts to minimize
disturbance by planning and reduction of unnecessary uses continue 'to be our
aim. Treatment in the following described areas demonstrates our adherence
to this guideline.
MLRD Inspection Report (8/18/88)
Mined Land Reclamation Division personnel surveyed selected areas at the
mill site in August 1988 and an inspection report was later (November 1988)
submitted to us. Most of the questions raised related to final re•~lamation
of the tailing deposition area.
A soil-tailing test plot was established in 1982 and initially
quantitatively sampled in 1985. Another sampling of parameters will occur in
1989 which will provide points of comparison for the 1985 date. The
