1 ~ • ~II'II'II'I~'1~"II
. ~ ,F-~~
LARRY E. O'BRIAN
PRESIDENT
October 16, 1978
Mr. Roger S. Funston
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman St., Room 773
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. Funston:
•1
9989 West 60th Avenue
Arvada, Colorado 80004
PHONE 309-423.7297
1. It is our oversight in not including in the narrative the distance
from seep ditch to the closest excavation. This distance is a
minimum of 25 feet. Please see scale map Exhibit C.
2. a. Staff is correct, timetables need clarification; should be:
Stage I October 1978 thru September 1979
II October 1979 thru September 1980
III October 1980 thru September 1981
Phase I October 1979 thru September 1980
II October 1980 thru September 1981
III October 1981 thru September 1982
Grading and planting in this non-critical "salt desert
breaks" should be complete to acceptability within one
year. A critical area might very well be expected to
take much longer.
b. Seed costs vary daily, but we did not expect such a large
variation on the SCS mixture as has apparently occurred.
Seed costs quote Northrup-King 10-13-78
Yellow Sweet Clover $0.32 per pound
Western Wheatgrass $1.50 per pound
Crested Wheatgrass $0.60 per pound
Therefore, according to SCS
30% Yellow Sweet Clover = 1 lb. x $0.32 = $ .32
504'o Western Wheatgrass = 4 lb. x $1.50 = 6.00
20~ Crested Wheatgrass = 1 lb. x $0.60 = .60
Total $6.92
Thus, $6.92 _ 6 lbs. _ $1.15 per pou nd average cost.
