Schmediding
Mined Lad Reclamation
Denver' olorado 80203
~ III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
WALSENBURG, COLORADO BI009
PHONE ]J6-2360
P. O BO% 541
15 December 1978
Re: Jolly Pit, #78 276; Sand Arroyo, #78 283
Dear Sir:
First, I do not believe that you are the one that
has examined these applications of ours because
all of the information you are asking for has been
previously furnished.
On the Jolly pit, I furnished photo maps from Soil
Conservation office, and there is clearly marked
on the map by the cartographer, the location of
the gravel pit. The map further shows when the
map was made, or dated. Further, a strip map was
prepared by Mr. Jolly showing the location of all
roads, and showed who all his neighbors are. This
strip map has been mailed to you TWICE.
As for the lcation of the pit, I have explained to
you that the gravel pit on the Jolly ranch is a
hill rising out of the prairie. It is not a moun-
tain. A hill. I have explained to you that the
area."mined" is very small, and further informed
you that no pit is formed by the mining operation;.
that the area as mined is comparably flat, and that
there is no danger of livestock to fall into any
hole. I have further explained, I thought, that
there would be no need for livestock to graze this
hill as there is no vegation. I might add also
that there is no livestock water near the operation.
You have forwarded to me a couple of exhibits as
examples, being exhibits C2 and C3. Clearly these
are not to scale, and do not show adjoining land
owners, and the description of the road is no better
than what I have previously forwarded to you.
Again, I just do not believe that you personally
have looked at the file.
The photo map shows roads clearly. As previously
mentioned, the Jolly pit has been in operation
