LOCAL GOVERrIr1ENT APPROVAL: Given b_y Adams Co. Commissioners on June 21, <br />1977. <br />5. SIZE OF AFFECTED LANDS: 120.717 acres. <br />6. GENERAL DE\S,CRIPTI(O~N: <br />\~ ~ "~ <br />\~~ <br />The area has traditionally been used <br />pasture and range, as has much of th <br />area. Also very significant amounts <br />floodplain lands close to aad.o~Ljr~a <br />have been mined for sand and gravel. <br />largely floodplain. <br />7. TIP{ETABLE OF OPERATIONS: Timetable is not clearly given, hasically, opera- <br />tion will consist of 5 phase; covering a span of <br />II 20 __y~~llars. <br />Tey, f~~41~~N <br />9. RECLAMATION PLAN: Ths~.ro~iMk~d use of the area is primarily for active re- <br />creation utilizing 5 lakes created by the operation. A <br />`~,., :,tip w~.~f~ ~ championship water ski slalom course is envisioned on the <br />larger lakes in the future. A s~ctondary use of the area <br />-,~ n r n is for waterfowl and fish habitat` All other si.Y~s A(.`r.` <br />~ J ~`~ l"~'~r'1 ~ will be seeded with crested wheat grass as per SCS recom- <br />mendations. Also a number of locust and Russian Olives <br />will be planted. Slopes will be graded to 3:1 or less, <br />shore line grading will be 3:1 for the first 8 ft. of depth <br />and 2:1 thereafter. <br />10. WILDLIFE,: T}ie area receives some use by rodents and other species normally <br />associated with stream hanks. After mining it is probable the <br />area will receive increased use by waterfowl. Also the size and <br />depth of the proposed lakes lend themselves to the establishment <br />of fish. Fish and Game recommendations are to be followed for <br />species stocked. <br />• <br />
