The residence is
owned by Mr. Henry Becker and is located near the center of the
north side of the proposed gravel pit. Per United Companies
measurements, the residence is located 108 feet from the north edge
of the haul road and 138 feet north of the top-of-slope of the
excavation.
J
In our, letter dated March 21, 1994 we showed that a 2:1 (horizontal
to vertical) slope would provide a safety factor greater than unity
even with a relatively intense earthquake. It is unknown the exact
location of the water well or septic system, however, due to the
slope of the natural grade it is anticipated the septic system is
located to the northwest of the residence and we understand the
well is located to the northeast of the residence. The closest a
water well and leach field can be to the property line is 25 and 10
feet, respectively. The slope stability will have no effect on the
residence or any of its components as the closet possible component
would produce a 4.6:1 slope from the base of the proposed pit.
