Mills RE: Kauffman Pit Your File #78-327 Dear Mr. Mills: This is in response to your letter of November 2, 1978, and my recent meetings and telephone conversations with you with respect to revised and additional information requested by you with respect to this application. We have striven to supply that which you requested and herein I will address the concerns set forth in your letter in the order presented therein. Exhibit C (A.) Pursuant to your request, we have revised the Mining Plan Map in several respects. One is to indicate the direction of slope on the map. We have not, however, added more contour lines for the reason that the slope is gradual enough that no additional five foot contour changes would be reflected on the map. (B.) Requested vegetation information is set forth on the aerial photo accompanying this letter. Trees noted on the aerial photo are cottonwood trees and all unmined areas north and west of existing mined areas are grasslands covered with approximately a 758 covering of a mixture of the grasses set forth in the informa- tion received from the Soil Conservation Service as described in Exhibit J, previously filed. Exhibit D (A,) The Mining Plan Map now incorporates a timetable for approximate completion dates for various stages of the mining opera- tion. It is planned that mining will take place in all stages in directions basically from south to north.
