Our subdivision is located on the east side of CO 9 three
to 9 miles south of US 285. We have 581 lot owners on Redhill Ridge which
on the east side of the Middle Fork of the South Platte.
Our Association members have the following concerns about the proposed
Allen Drilling & Excavation Construction Materials Plant on the north side of
the River:
• Redhill Forest draws its water from aquifers that are re-supplied by
the river drainage through groundwater seepage from fhe river and
its total riverbed area, As you may know, there are minerals in the
riverbed that occur naturally and harm nothing unless disturbed. This
excavation for construction materials could release these minerals
which could pollute the groundwater, the river and eventually, the
aquifers. We are concerned about the ambient groundwater quality
once this plant gets into operation.
• The Colorado Water Quali#y Control Commission has an interest in
these matters as does the State and the EPA. We d like to see the
3/23/2UU(i Page 1 of 3
