Beltramo and Sons, Inc.
Dear Berhan:
RECEIVED
MAR 0 4 1999
Diviswn of mmerais d neology
I will respond to your adequacy concerns in the same order as you presented them:
1. Exhibit D
Is all crushing and screeuing done on site? NO
If no, would the offsite processing site be added to the present permit? NO
The operator proposed to do both on and off-site processing, so not all crushing and screening will
be done on this site. The operator has a permanent crushing and screening set up on industrial
property they own on Stockyazd Road in Pueblo. This will not need to be added to this permit for
compliance. A portable plant may be brought into this site at.vazious times, depending on business
demand.
2. Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan
a. Division understands that a minimum of 6" of topsoil will be spread.
The application states "replacing topsoil (growth media) to a depth of 4" to 8", depending upon
availability, and will probably average 6".
As further explanation, these Cascajo soils have no true topsoil. The top layer is of sand and gravel
composition with some humus that has developed over the years in the top 3:" - 6". "Growth Media"
is a much more accurate term than "Topsoil." Some descriptions of this top layer say that it is 60%
rock and 40% sand, which I tend to believe.
"Your Brand of People"
