Domtar Gypsum, Inc. succeeded as operator in <br />1988. Georgia-Pacific Corp. succeeded as operator in 1996. <br />The first five-yeaz Temporary Cessation period began August 3, 1990. A request for a second 5- <br />year period of Temporary Cessation was denied by the Board on October 17, 1995. The Board <br />ordered the operator to begin final reclamation immeadiately which, thereby, stazted the required <br />five-year reclamation period. <br />The Board extended the five-year reclamation period at the September 25, 1997 Board Hearing <br />pursuant to C.R.S. 34-32.5-112(6) upon a finding that additional time was necessary to complete <br />reclamation. The Board decided that the 5-year reclamation period would expire on September <br />24, 2002. <br />ISSUE <br />On August 16, 2002 the Division received a request from the operator, Georgia-Pacific Corp., for <br />an extension of the 5-year reclamation period which will be presented to the Boazd at the <br />September Board meeting. <br />
