G-P Gypsum has performed all closure tasks as scheduled in the five year closure plan
regarding lughwall removal and stabilization, re-grading operations, equipment removal, road
removal, and revegetation work However, the establishment ofvegetation onthe steep, dry slopes
exposed during the pest Rve years oflinal grading, equipment and mad reastoval will take additional
seasons of continued vegetative maittteffince to attain a serf sustaining and diverse cover of native
vegetation on,those poxkions of the site where appropriate. As you know, this past year is one ofthe
driest on record and Coaldale is no exception for its nearly zero moisture conditions, Vegetative
developn}ent will be min$nal with most labor expended in just keeping our existing seedlings alive.
Additional time w01 be aeedccl to bring the vegetative aspects at the si[e to a level of nitnlmum
standard regarding percent ground cover, diversity, and sustainability.
I look forward to your August visit regarding this request.
1
Very Truly Yours,
s~.o.s..~n.
