Gardner. I may
always be contacted at the phone number shown above. Please make
sure that your representative arrives at our facilities properly
prepared to comply with all 1•.1SHA requirements.
I take this opportunity to express a concern I have had with inspec-
tions by your Division at our facilities. First, let me say that
I am pleased that in the future we will be contacted to participate
in these inspections. In my opinion, this will do a great deal to
preserve and continue the cooperative attitude this company has had
toward reclamation and the Division'.
t,1y chief concern is that sta.Cf observation and recommendations become
part of the public record no matter how careful or careless the work.
{then your staff arrives on site without having reviewed the original
application, all past annual reports, technical revisions and amend-
ments, and when they have had no opportunity to be briefed on current
conditions, possible problems and mining/reclamation progress, it is
nearly impossible for the staff member to submit an inspection report
±hat dees not appear to be careless and poorly prejiareci.
we are aware that your staff members are severely limited in the time
available for inspections, let alone preparation for inspections.
Therefore, we believe that if we accompany Vour specialists many ques-
tions can be answered and the permit, revisions and amendments can be
reviewed orally so that glaring errors and inaccuracies of assumption
can be eliminated from inspection reports that become available for pub-
lic record.
We wish to avoid the public condemnation that can be caused by ignorance
of the errors that can creep into Che t•1L13 Di.visi.on inspection reports.
lYe urge you to adopt a policy that offers all operators the opportunity
to accompany your specialists on their inspection tours.
1~~_s trul ~,
~C [,;dwarcS P.7. ca~•at,~r, President
READY MIXED
CONCRETE
