GOLD HILL VENTURES
P.O. Box 1523
Longmont, Colorado 80501
November 14, 1985
Edward L. Bischoff
Minerals Supervisor
Mined Land Reclamation Division
423 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re: Cash Mine, File M-83-141
Dear Mr. Bischoff:
III IIIII~II~II~~ ~I~
RECEIVED
NOV80
~~
This letter is being submitted to the Mined Land
Reclamation Division in response to the Amendment Conditions
attached to the Cash Mine Limited Impact Permit approved on
September 26, 1985, by the Mined Land Reclamation Board.
1. The initial tailings impoundment storage area will
occupy a rectangular shaped area that will have the dimen-
sions 275 feet by 100 feet at its longest and widest points.
This size was determined after surveying the outline of the
tailings impoundment dam in the field, and deciding to take
advantage of the natural topography and ground conditions to
build a smaller but deeper tailings retention structure.
The tailings dam will extend 330 feet along its outer face
from the northeastern edge to the southwestern edge of the
structure. By reducing the initial length of the tailings
impoundment dam, the entire site will be well screened from
public view from County Road No. 52 by the existing growth
of mature pine and aspen trees. A revised Millsite and
Tailings Pond Reclamation Plan Map that will reflect this
change will be submitted to the Mined Land Reclamation
Division as soon as the site work has been completed.
Once the tailings dam construction earth work has been
completed, the following sequence of geomembrane liner
installation will be followed:
1. The water decantation line and any seepage
monitoring lines will be placed in position along the
bottom of the tailings pond prior to preparing the
-1-
