Delta County, Colorado. The Delta
County Board of Commissioners purchased this property in 1988 with the intent of op-
erating the additional area, used for coal wasate disposal, as a solid waste landfill.
The county is in the process of obtaining engineering services to expand landfilling
operations into this site if feasable. I have enclosed a copy of the RFP that the
county has sent out. We are now in the process of reviewing the responses to this
RFP.
Regarding the reclimation of the site , according to the forfieted bond by Western
Slope Carbon, we would request that your office postpone this activity. If the county
decides to close this site the reclamation of the gob pile will be required. If this
site continues to be used as a landfill then reclamation of this area would not be
needed since the site would be distrubed for landfilling.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Yo rs ly,
enneth Nordstrom
Director of Environmental Health
encl.
cc: Board of county Commissioners
[Q9: iwp
