I have determined the
following.
Prior to mining, irrigation water was diverted from the Overland Ditch down
East Roatcap Creek to the Roberts Stucker Ditch. In order to avoid potential
mining impacts in East Roatcap Creek, {where mining did take place), the
Operator moved the point of diversion from the Overland Ditch so irrigation
water flows down West Roatcap to the Roberts Stucker Ditch. No mining
took place under West Roatcap Creek.
F.a1
Monitoring Station SW-09 is located where water is diverted from the
Overland Ditch to West Roatcap Creek. SW-09 is a stilling well recorder.
attached to a 12-inch flume. The flume and stilling well were installed by the
Operator.
~.
Monitoring Station SW-11 is an existing concrete weir constructed to
measure flows in Main Roatcap Creek. This structure is located above the
take-out for the Roberts Stucker Ditch. The Operator installed a stilling well
and recorder on the existing weir.
Monitoring Station SW-12 is a stilling well and recorder installed on an
existing 24-inch Parshall fume in the Roberts Stucker Ditch.
The operator is no longer required to monitor these points. The DMG --
approvetl water monitoring plan was revised in 1993 (TR-024).and I believe
these monitoring points were deleted from the plan at that time. The likely
rationale used to approve the monitoring reduction was the fact that no
c
