Loye <br />DATE: _August 26, 1981 <br />Following is a brief summary of the contents of an application to be <br />considered for group presentation. The information is accurate as <br />of the above date. <br />Operator Mine Development, Inc. <br />File No. 81-165 <br />Operation Type Surface and underground gold with associated cyanide vat leach <br />General Location i3 miles WNW of Durango in La Plata County, at an a evation <br />of 10,000' <br />Alining Plan 4 Phzise Operation: 1: Tailings from an old milling operation will <br />be hauled to the_mill site and vat leached in a closed circuit cyanide vat Leach. <br />2. Existing mine dump materials will be hauled to the milling site, crushed and <br />processed as in 1. above. 3. Existing underground workings and shafts will be <br />rehabilitated. 4. Underground mining of ore will occur.. Ore will be trucked to <br />the milling site acid processed as above. Waste from the mill will be disposed of <br />Reclamation Plan: in hypalon lined ponds. <br />Final land use Open space and wildlife habitat <br />Slope grading Maximum of 3:1 <br />Topsoil depth 6 to 8 inches where revegetation is to occur <br />Species to be planted Mountain bromegrass, 15 lbs. PLS/acre; <br />Pubescent whE~atgrass, 3 lbs./acre; Timothy, 71bs. PIS/acre; <br />Yellow sweet clover, 2 lbs. PLS/acre. Some planting of Engleman spruce <br />and Douglas iir seedlings. <br />which are to be revegetated in reclamation. <br />Additional Details This is a vat leaching operation using stainless steel <br />/ats and PVC pipe c~~ith waste to be disposed of as a slurry into lined ponds <br />General Timetable <br />The life of the operation will be about 23 years; <br />rnase 1: i yr., rnase ~: <br />Reclamation will follow <br />years. <br />Staff Recommendation The staff recommends approval of the permit application <br />with bond set at $_`:,000.00 and the three stipu atzons a o ow on a next <br />
