Box 483 <br />Paonia, Colorado 81428 <br />RE: Adequacy Review, PR-06, Unit Train Loadout and Increase in Production, Bowie No. 2 <br />Mine, Permit No. C-96-083, Bowie Resources Limited <br />Dear Mr.Beaz: <br />The Division has finished its review of Bowie Resources Limited's (BRL) submittal, dated <br />August 8, 2001 for Permit Revision No. 6. The Division has the following questions and <br />comments: <br />Soils <br />A soil survey was conducted last yeaz and the report is dated 12/04/00, which will be <br />added to Tab 7. The report references a map that shows where each soil sample was <br />taken and the map locations correlate to the information provided in Tables 1,2 and 3. <br />Please provide a copy of the map. <br />2. It does not appear that the depth information provided in Table 1 of the Soils Report <br />correlates with the soil depths shown on the Bowie No. 2 Soils Map, Map No. 04. Please <br />explain or correct Map No. 04, if necessary. <br />3. On page 2.05-36, it says [hat approximately 30 inches of topsoil will be salvaged for <br />construction of the unit train Loadout. Does this include the coverfill stockpile and the <br />disturbance associated with proposed pond "J"? <br />4. Upon completion of the topsoil salvaging operations, please commit to providing [13e <br />volume of topsoil actually salvaged and placed into topsoil stockpile F. This commitment <br />could be added to the text on page 2.05-36, 2"d paragraph. Pages 2.05-36 and 2.05-48, at <br />a minimum, will need to be updated with the final topsoil volumes. <br /> <br />
