The information is formatted using the same
headings as in your review.
Area 41 Haul Road Fill
a, b, & c) Methodology and justification for the designs used for
stabilization of the Area 41 drainage are provided in Appendix 1 "Channel
Design: of CYCC's Permit Revision 86-2 "Postmining Topography Modification
and Channel Repair". The above referenced Permit Revision also provides
information for riprap size distribution, and filter bed design.
Designs for the 10.3% slope channel section have been completed and are
included on Table 87-12-1.
d) The culvert in the Area 41 fill will not be removed. As agreed upon in
the meeting of October 1, 1987, both ends will be crushed and the culvert
buried.
e) The crossing of this channel will be accomplished by installing a rocked
grade crossing.
f) Most, if not all, of the grading can be accomplished without disturbing
any existing topsoil. CYCC proposes to leave undisturbed areas in tact as
much as possible. If during regrading it is necessary to disturb any
previously undisturbed areas all topsoil will be removed and used to reclaim
side slopes.
g) Reclamation of valley - side slopes will be accomplished following the
methodology approved in the Reclamation Plan under section 780.18 (Topsoil
Removal, Storage and Redistribution Plan, Revegetation Plan, and Soil
Stabilization Plan). On slopes too steep for tractors to safely work on the
contour soil stabilization will consist of tracking up and down the slope
with a dozer and broadcast seeding as described on permit renewal page
780-129-2.
