Dept. of Natural Resources <br />RE: Specification Aggregates <br />File No. 74-4 <br />1983 Amendment <br />Dear Mr. McArdle: <br />Pursuant to your letter dated September 28, 1983, our response <br />is as follows: <br />A. Water Information <br />As you are aware, the amendment area is the quarr~~ entrance <br />road and consists of .7293 acres. Drainage structures <br />(small check dams) have been placed along the ful=_ length <br />of the asphalt road to control off property sedimentation. <br />There are presently no structures off of the permit area <br />or the proposed .7293 acre amendment area. Previously there <br />was a structure to the south of the entrance road that has <br />been removed and as agreed upon Mobile Premix has placed 6" <br />spalls to protect the drainage channel. All smal_. check dams <br />have been cleaned out and will be recleaned and repaired <br />periodically as needed. <br />B. Vegetation Information <br />1. As recommended, Mobile Premix has cut the weeds a__ong the <br />entrance road and plans to seed the terraces just to the <br />north of the entrance road this fall and/or winter' as <br />discussed. These terraces to be seeded do not reF7resent <br />the final grade of the plan; however, as part of our annual <br />reclamation test plots they are ideally suited in that they <br />will enhance the quarry entrance. <br />"MPM and Safety/A Great Mix" <br />
