The next step will be to conduct a full
scale pilot demonstration. If the pilot succesf~.~.ly demonstJ~ates
sludge/CKD disposal to the state requlitors, Holnam Inc., and the
Fremont Sanitation District then full scale operation will begin.
Pilot Demonstration
The pilot program will demonstrate sludge/CKD disposal using sludge
from the Fremont Sanitation District's aerobic digesters and
application equipment rented from the Breckenridge Sanitation
District. The pilot program will begin April 1, 1991. The first
week will be equipment set up and shakedown. The second and third
weeks will be the full scale demonstration. The remainder of the
month will be used to perfect the application methods and to answer
questions that might have been raised during the full scale
demonstration. Equipment will be demobilized by April 30, 1991.
Equipment
The Fremont Sanitation District will need to rent the following
equipment.
1 - Rainbird irrigation Pump, trailer mounted
1 - Big Gun Irrigation Nozzle, trailer mounted
4" Suction Hose (20 feet)
4" Discharge Hose (20 feet)
The above equipment can be rented from the Breckenridge Sanitation
District for $100 per week. Conditions of the rental will be that
any equipment breakage will be fixed prior to return. Contact Bill
Smith at (303)453-6715 to make the arrangements.
In addition, the District will be required to furnish their sludge
truck for hauling and the gasoline to run the irrigation pump.
1
