Box 4440 <br />Durango, CO 81302 <br />ai=CEIVED Sandco is the Permittee/Operator of three DMG sand <br />and gravel permits: <br />APR 12 1999 <br />Dalton Land 8 Cattle Pit, Permit No. M-87-064; <br />^°'~~~u~I.~meralsBGeobgy Walker Pit, Permit No. M-87-044; and Willow Bend <br />Pit, Permit No. M-86-165 <br />2.5.2(2)(6) This petition relates to DMG letter to Sandco, dated <br />March 29, 1999, stating that Sandco must satisfy <br />the public notice requirements, typically associated <br />with Amendments, for a Technical Revision. <br />Rules 1.1(6), 1.1(49) amd 1.6 of the Construction <br />Materials Rules. <br />2.5.2(2)(c) Sandco wishes to modify the post mining land use for <br />the 14 acre processing site, permitted under Permit <br />No. M-87-064, from the present "pasture land" to <br />"industrial" land use. <br />The processes discussed in these Rules have already <br />been satisfied by LaPlata County and the Animas Valley <br />Land Use Plan (AVLUP), enacted in 1993, and governed <br />by law. The AVLUP designated (zoned) all of the <br />Animas Valley properties for specific uses, one of <br />which is owned by Sandco, Inc. laPlata County's <br />AVLUP has several different land use designations, <br />all of which are zoned accordingly.
