The following information is-being submitted on behalf of our client, Holcim (US) Inc. for the Boettcher Mine operation (M-1977-349) located 2 miles north of LaPorte, iri Larimer County, Colorado. Holcim (US) Inc. is requesting an acreage release from the permitted mine azea as illustrated on the attached Acreage Release Request Map. The acreage release request includes a total of approximately 337 acres. The area included in the release request includes approximately 15 acres where reclamation activities have been completed and additional properties that were not disturbed by the mining operation. A reduction in the permit financial warranty is NOT being requested. The 15 acres reclaimed from past mining operations (azea within delineated Mine Cell A7 on the attached map) has been backfilled, graded, and revegetated consistent with Exhibit E, Reclamation Plan, of the reclamation permit. Final grading was finished and revegetation of the site was performed as mining.operations at the site were being completed prior to 2000. The owner revegetated the affected azea with pasture grasses consistent with the final land use, and the vegetative cover is presently doing well. The remainder of the 337 acres included in the release request was never disturbed by mining operations. The azea is north and east of the existing haul road and includes all or portions of the delineated mine cells C3, C4, E4, and E5. No part of the existing haul road is included in the release request azea. At the very north end of the haul road, the requested release azea starts immediately adjacent to the east side. of the road (see attached Acreage Release Request Map). However, further to the south, the requested release area does not follow immediately adjacent to the haul road (see attached Acreage Release Request Map), excluding azeas along the road that contain safety berms and require reclamation activities.
