And, in accordance with Section 3432.5- 117(5), we are requesting release of reclamation responsibility for that portion of the permit area. In June 1998 we applied for and received a 110 permit for the operation. This operation is one wherein previously mined placer dredge tailing (spoils) are being put to a beneficial use as aggregate products. The pro ect is located about five miles up the Swan River near Breckenridge, Co~orado. Such operations are fairly common in the Breckenridge area where so much dredge mining occurred during the gold boom in that area. The permit boundary of the operation was strictly limited to the previously disturbed area occupied by the dredge piles. And, with the exception of an occasional tree seedling growing in the dredge tailing, the entire area redisturbed by this operation was totally unvegetated. The Act and Rules require that the land be revegetated to a vegetative cover equal to or greater than that of the surrounding area - i.e., equal to or greater than the vegetative cover of the land prior to disturbance. The vegetative cover of this land prior to disturbances related to our operation was zero. As such, the approved reclamation plan for this operation did not commit to revegetation.
